"AMERICAN TEN" at The Coast Playhouse. Due to overwhelming response and packed houses during our first run, The Coast Playhouse has extended "American Ten" for two more weeks, Friday, Feb. 27 to Sunday, March 8. Click here for details.
LISA ROBERTSON STUDIO has fast become a place where the professional actor can renew, strengthen and break through to a new level of role, moving deeper into their creative freedom; the Intermediate Class offers an intimate environment honing technique and script-analysis for the actor with some training and/or professional experience. On-Camera classes are offered as short courses and intensives throughout the year.
PHILOSOPHY: Lisa Robertson Studio supports the growth of spontaneous actors grounded in technique, working moment-to-moment, alive with choice. Thorough script analysis, the creation of a rich and imaginative inner and physical life, and freeing the instrument through imagery, destination and task, are all focuses of LRS. LRS provides an environment where the actor's particular imaginative life is encouraged in order to bring their unique "stamp" to the role while also remaining grounded in the world of the play & sensitive to the needs and rhythms of the language and story.
The goal is for the actor to ultimately understand the role of the "good director" in themselves.
